The objective of this study was to compare CO₂ emissions generated by the use of electric and hybrid vehicles in four countries: Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Germany, and Sweden. The research examined how each country’s energy mix influences the reduction of emissions associated with electric mobility. It concluded that, in countries where electricity is generated primarily from renewable sources (such as Colombia and Sweden), electric vehicles are more effective at reducing emissions. In countries dependent on fossil fuels, such as the Dominican Republic and Germany, the environmental impact of these vehicles is less favorable.
